Architectural-grade rubber flooring—designed to perform, made to impress.

Installation Note: Tiles should be installed in a brick pattern due to the flexible nature of rubber, unlike VCT or other rigid tiles. Rubber 'breathes,' and even with proper acclimation, the size of the tiles may shift slightly—by as little as 1/16 of an inch. While this difference may not be noticeable on individual tiles, it can become apparent over a large area, particularly at the seams. Installing tiles in a brick formation helps minimize these visible variations. Please note, we no longer accept claims for installations where tiles are laid corner-to-corner.

Color Note: The Fanfare Series is composed of 100% EPDM rubber in solid and near-solid colors. Due to the natural characteristics of the rubber, some tiles may vary in color. This includes, but is not limited to: shading from tile to tile; shading within individual tiles; a framing effect in which darker pigments will form around the border of the tile. Although these are not considered to be defects, in order to combat these natural occurrences, Summit International Flooring recommends dry laying the tiles before installation. If any tiles show more shading or framing than others, it is suggested that these tiles are placed under furniture or against walls where they are likely to be cut. Production runs can have slight dye lot differences and we will match samples as closely as possible.

Caution: Rubber flooring tiles may experience fading when exposed to direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to UV rays can lead to a loss of color vibrancy and potential changes in texture. Consider implementing appropriate measures, such as using window coverings, to minimize direct sunlight exposure and preserve the tiles' appearance.

Cleaning: Decorative EPDM rubber floors have a slight texture, so the proper way to clean them is with an extraction machine that incorporates rotating brushes. Between extractions, vacuuming will help, and most stains can be spot-cleaned with a Soft Scrub and a sponge.

Two-Step Backing for Rubber Flooring

Discover Our Innovative TWO-STEP Backing System for Customized Rubber Flooring

Achieve your desired flooring thickness while staying within your budget! With our cutting-edge backing system, you can choose any decorative rubber flooring and have it adhered to an SBR (recycled rubber) backing. For example, if you need an 8 mm thick floor, you can use a 4 mm layer of EPDM combined with a TWO-STEP backing of 4 mm recycled rubber. Through precise water jet cutting, we create pristine square edges, ensuring a flawless appearance. This offers a cost-effective alternative to an 8 mm homogeneous EPDM floor while also reducing adhesive and installation expenses. Our experienced SIF representatives are available to discuss various thickness options and help determine the ideal combination for your project. Contact us today to learn more about how our innovative process can transform your next project!
