Designed with the Ocean in Mind | OBJECT CARPET Velaa brings environmental purpose directly into its design. Its distinctive structured surface is inspired by the graphic markings of a sea turtle’s shell, creating an organic geometric pattern that gives the floor depth, movement, and an unmistakable visual identity.
That connection to the ocean goes beyond aesthetics. Velaa is made with ♻️ 100% recycled ECONYL® yarn, produced from regenerated nylon waste that includes discarded fishing nets recovered from the world’s oceans. The collection was created to support Healthy Seas, an organization dedicated to recovering abandoned fishing nets and other marine waste, with OBJECT CARPET donating a portion of Velaa sales to the organization.
The result is a commercial carpet where the material, pattern, and purpose tell the same story. Velaa gives architects and designers a visually distinctive flooring solution for workplace, hospitality, retail, education, and other commercial interiors while bringing a tangible ocean-conservation narrative into the project.

Our oceans are home to extraordinary biodiversity, but plastic waste and abandoned fishing nets, known as “ghost nets,” pose a growing threat to marine life, including sea turtles.
Velaa means “turtle” in Dhivehi, the official language of the Maldives. Inspired by this endangered species, OBJECT CARPET developed Velaa exclusively in support of Healthy Seas, an initiative dedicated to protecting our oceans and recovering abandoned fishing nets and other marine waste.
The sea turtle has long symbolized strength, harmony, and longevity, making it a meaningful inspiration for a carpet designed around the future of our oceans. Made with 100% recycled ECONYL® yarn, Velaa connects its distinctive design with a broader commitment to circular materials and marine conservation.
For every square meter of Velaa sold, OBJECT CARPET donates 5% of the turnover to the Healthy Seas Project, directly supporting efforts to protect our seas and the marine life that depends on them.
