1. Introduction
Summit International Flooring, a brand of DSN Associates, LLC (“Summit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit https://summit-flooring.com (the “Site”), request product samples, submit a specification or quote request, subscribe to our communications, or otherwise interact with us.
Summit International Flooring is a distributor of luxury and sustainable flooring and wall coverings serving architects, interior designers, contractors, and other design professionals across North America. Our business is primarily business-to-business, but this Policy applies to all personal information we collect, including information about individuals acting in a professional capacity.
Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Site or submitting information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to personal information collected:
- Through the Site, including forms, sample ordering, and account or subscription features;
- Through email, telephone, or written correspondence with our team;
- At trade shows, showroom visits, presentations, and other in-person or virtual events; and
- From third-party sources described in Section 4.
This Policy does not apply to:
- The privacy practices of third-party websites, manufacturers, or brands linked from the Site, each of which maintains its own privacy policy;
- Information about our employees and job applicants, which is covered by a separate internal notice; or
- Information that has been aggregated or de-identified such that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you.
3. Personal Information We Collect

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, financial account numbers, health information, precise geolocation, biometric data, or information revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. Please do not submit such information to us.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it (city or region level);
- Browser type and version, operating system, device type, and screen resolution;
- Pages viewed, links clicked, products and samples browsed, time spent on pages, and scroll behavior;
- Referring URL and exit pages, and any campaign parameters (such as UTM tags) in the link you followed; and
- Date and time of your visit and session identifiers.

3.3 Information We Do Not Collect Through the Site
We do not currently process payments through the Site. Product samples are fulfilled without online payment. If we later add online ordering or payment functionality, we will update this Policy and, where required, obtain your consent before using your information for any materially different purpose.
4. Sources of Personal Information
We obtain personal information from:
- You, directly, through the channels described above;
- Your employer, firm, or project team, when a colleague submits a request or specification on your behalf or lists you as a project contact;
- Automated technologies on the Site, as described in Section 3.2 and our Cookie Policy;
- Service providers such as our email marketing platform, website host, and shipping carriers, which return delivery, engagement, and fulfillment data to us;
- Advertising and social media platforms, including Meta, which may provide aggregated campaign performance data and lead information where you have submitted a form on their platform; and
- Publicly available and commercial sources, such as professional directories, industry association listings, trade show attendee lists, and business contact databases.
5. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information for the following business purposes:
Fulfilling your requests
- Processing and shipping product samples and sample bags;
- Preparing and delivering specification quotes, pricing, and product documentation;
- Scheduling and delivering product presentations, CEU sessions, and showroom appointments;
- Responding to inquiries and providing customer and technical support.
Managing our business relationship
- Maintaining records of projects, specifications, and orders;
- Communicating about order status, product availability, discontinuations, and lead times;
- Administering accounts and trade or designer program participation.
Marketing and communications
- Sending newsletters, new product announcements, and event invitations where you have subscribed or where permitted by applicable law;
- Personalizing content and product recommendations;
- Operating and measuring advertising campaigns, including on Meta platforms, and building audiences for those campaigns.
Operating and improving the Site
- Maintaining Site security, availability, and performance;
- Diagnosing technical problems and preventing fraud or abuse;
- Analyzing usage to improve navigation, product presentation, and content.
Legal and compliance
- Complying with applicable laws, regulations, and lawful requests from public authorities;
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims;
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not knowingly profile individuals in a manner that would present a reasonably foreseeable risk of unfair or deceptive treatment.
6. Legal Bases and Consent (Canadian Visitors)
Where Canadian privacy law applies, we collect, use, and disclose personal information with your knowledge and consent, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. Consent may be:
- Express, for example when you subscribe to our email communications, submit a sample or quote request, or agree to non-essential cookies through our consent banner; or
- Implied, for example when you provide your business contact information in the course of an inquiry and it is reasonable to expect that we will use it to respond.
We obtain express opt-in consent before sending commercial electronic messages, as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and before placing non-essential cookies or tracking technologies on the devices of visitors in Quebec, as required by the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting us using the details in Section 15. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services to you.
7. How We Share Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We share personal information in the following circumstances:
7.1 Service Providers
We disclose personal information to vendors that perform services on our behalf under contracts that limit their use of the information to those services. These include:
- Website hosting, content delivery, and Site security providers;
- Email marketing and customer relationship management platforms;
- Shipping and logistics carriers, for sample and product delivery;
- Analytics providers;
- Professional advisors, including legal, accounting, and insurance advisors.
7.2 Manufacturers and Supply Partners
Where you request a sample, quote, or technical information relating to a specific brand or product line, we may share your name, company, contact details, and project requirements with the relevant manufacturer or supply partner so that they can fulfill the request, provide technical support, or arrange direct shipment.
7.3 Advertising and Social Media Platforms
We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and may use similar advertising technologies. These tools disclose information about your interactions with the Site to the platform operator, which may use it to deliver and measure advertising, including advertising directed to you on other sites and services. Under certain U.S. state privacy laws, this type of disclosure is treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands. You may opt out as described in Section 10 and in our Cookie Policy.
7.4 Corporate Transactions
If Summit is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of its assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the receiving party’s commitment to honor this Policy or provide notice of any material change.
7.5 Legal Requirements and Protection
We may disclose personal information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or government request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Summit, our customers, or the public.
7.6 With Your Direction
We share information with other parties when you ask us to, such as when you request that a sample be sent to a client, contractor, or job site.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate, secure, analyze, and market the Site. Our Cookie Policy describes each category of technology we use, the specific tools involved, their purposes, and how you can control them. Where required by law, we obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you may change your preferences at any time through the Cookie Preferences link available in the Site footer.
8.1 Third-Party Tracking Across Sites
Third parties may collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site. Specifically, our advertising and analytics providers — including Meta Platforms, Inc. and Google LLC — may collect information about your visit and combine it with information collected on other sites and services to deliver and measure advertising. We do not control how these third parties use the information they collect; their practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
8.2 Do Not Track Signals
Most web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because no consistent industry standard exists for how operators should respond to that signal, the Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other recognized universal opt-out mechanisms, as described in Section 10.5. If you wish to limit tracking, use the GPC signal, our Cookie Settings link, or the browser and industry opt-out tools described in our Cookie Policy.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. In practice:

When personal information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it using reasonable measures.
10. Your Privacy Rights — United States
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights described below. These rights are provided by comprehensive privacy laws in states including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island. New Jersey residents have these rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
Your rights may include:
- Right to know or access — to confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain a copy, including the categories collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
- Right to correct — to have inaccurate personal information corrected.
- Right to delete — to request deletion of personal information we have collected from or about you.
- Right to data portability — to receive a copy of your personal information in a portable and, where technically feasible, readily usable format.
- Right to opt out of targeted advertising — to direct us to stop processing your personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — as described in Section 7.3.
- Right to opt out of profiling in furtherance of decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. We do not currently engage in this activity.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not collect or use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require this option.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised a privacy right.
- Right to appeal — if we decline your request, you may appeal as described below.

Please tell us which right you wish to exercise and provide enough information for us to locate your records — typically the name, email address, and company you used when interacting with us.
10.2 Verification
To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting on a request to know, correct, delete, or port. This may involve matching the information you provide against our records or asking you to confirm from an email address already on file. We will not use information collected for verification for any other purpose.
10.3 Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require written proof of the agent’s authority and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us.
10.4 Response Times and Appeals
We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days. We may extend this period by an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, and will notify you of the extension and the reason for it.
If we decline to act on your request, we will explain why. You may appeal that decision within a reasonable period by replying to our response or emailing cs@summit-flooring.com with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond to the appeal within 45 days (or 60 days for Colorado and Connecticut residents) with a written explanation of the reasons for our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General to submit a complaint.
10.5 Universal Opt-Out Signals
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other recognized universal opt-out mechanisms. If your browser or extension transmits such a signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser and device. Because these signals are browser-specific, you will need to enable them on each browser and device you use.
10.6 Additional Notice for California Residents
California residents may also request the specific pieces of personal information we have collected and the categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose in the preceding 12 months. California’s “Shine the Light” law permits residents to request information about disclosures to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not make such disclosures.
11. Your Privacy Rights — Canada
If you are in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws give you the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and be informed of how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
- Withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice;
- Unsubscribe from commercial electronic messages at any time, using the link in every email we send or by contacting us; and
- Complain to us and, if you are not satisfied with our response, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or your provincial privacy regulator.
Residents of Quebec have additional rights under Law 25, including the right to data portability, the right to request that personal information be de-indexed or ceased to be disseminated in certain circumstances, and the right to be informed of the use of technology that identifies, locates, or profiles them. Quebec residents may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 15. We will respond within 30 days as required by PIPEDA.
12. Data Storage, Transfers, and Location
Summit is located in the United States, and our service providers store and process personal information in the United States. If you access the Site or submit information from outside the United States, including from Canada, your personal information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. Personal information stored in the United States may be subject to lawful access requests by U.S. courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities. By using the Site or contacting us, you acknowledge this transfer.
We use contractual and organizational measures to require our service providers to protect personal information at a standard comparable to that required under applicable Canadian law.
13. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption of the Site in transit (HTTPS), access controls limiting personal information to employees who need it for their role, vendor due diligence, and periodic review of our practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you transmit information to us at your own risk. If we become aware of a breach of security safeguards that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by applicable law.
14. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for design and construction professionals and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and the Site is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content
The Site links to and may embed content from third parties, including manufacturer websites, social media platforms, and video hosting services. These parties may collect information about you independently of us and in accordance with their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes to how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice — for example, by posting a prominent notice on the Site or, where required, by contacting you and obtaining your consent. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy to the extent permitted by law.
